° 1958, Brussels, Belgium. Lives and works in Brussels.
Joëlle Tuerlinckx belongs to this genealogy of artists from the 1970’ that massively attacked a certain idea of male modernity as transparent, stable, and frozen. From the start she used to blend light and color in a sensible relationship to architecture. The artist integrates into her production a lot of things that cause an aesthetic of heterogeneity and recycling.
Therefore her predilection for what has been rejected, garbage without utility. In a perspective devoid of any dogmatic logic, the artist retrieves and uses them as support experimentation.
