In Situ Creation – Koen van den Broek

InSituCreationThe artist Koen van den Broek has created an in situ painting in Havana, which will be exhibited at the museum afterwards during the show. For doing so, he has stayed two weeks in Cuba trying to capture the most important features of nowadays Havana and translate it into one single painting. This he did in cooperation with the Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes San Alejandro.

 

 

Laboratory – Edith Dekyndt

Laboratoy-EdithDekyndtThe artist Edith Dekyndt will create an in situ artwork for the exhibition. She will activate a “Laboratory” , a concept she started to develop in the 90’s. We will get the most of her 10 day work in Havana to explore and discuss issues related to the misconception of an artwork which has to adapt to the contextual situation, and which might change depending on that specific context.

Conference – Performance Joëlle Tuerlinckx – 10/02

JoelleTuerlinckx_cThe artist Joëlle Tuerlinckx will develop a 1h conference-performance on “L’espace: mis en place, mis en scène”, a reinterpretation of her conference in Youtube “Les moments d’espace”, part I.
The performance will be commented by Prof. Catherine Mayeur, one of the contributors of the catalogue.
