The work of Leo Copers guides us across the path of confusion, blasphemy and the atypical. With unusual inventiveness, he creates situations and objects denatured of their meaning or original function in order to find new meanings and forms according to the given context. Copers uses a wide register of possibilities to apprehend art and everyday reality.
Since early 1969, he showed cautiousness not to fall into the traps of formalism. Its variable “astutenesses” revolve around an attitude toward a specific way of conceiving art.
